While we do still transport people by air and by road, this work is complemented by a range of primary health services that address the most common issues people living in country Victoria face when accessing health care.

RFDS Victoria’s Primary Health Care team works in partnership with community health organisations across Victoria to deliver impactful services and improve the health and wellbeing of our rural communities. We believe in creating opportunities so that all Victorians have the choice to access the essential health care services they deserve.

About the role

 

The position:

Reporting to the Head of Clinical and Community, the Clinical Lead for the Health Group (Robinvale) provides leadership and management of the Healthcare Group, co-ordinating the day-to-day clinical and staff activity to ensure that a safe, efficient, and quality service is delivered. The Clinical Lead assists in coordinating and managing the Rural Women’s GP Service (RWGPS), Doctors in Secondary School (DiSS) and managing the referrals, triage, and allocation of the Telehealth Specialists service (excluding Psychiatry). The Lead has a role in assisting with the auditing and Governance across these key services named and includes budgetary management and reporting.

 

Major accountabilities include:

  • Clinical Governance
    • Overseeing systems for Certification to PSQPCH Standards and ISO 9001
    • Overseeing Credentialing and Scope of Practice of all directly reporting staff (10-15 Practitioners)
  • Service Needs
    • Collaborating with Head of Clinical and Community and Senior Staff with Service Needs Assessment annually – Commonwealth funding
    • Contributing to the annual service review and mapping for Health Group service changes
  • Service Design and Sustainability
    • Overseeing Consumer Led Service design and integrating place-based solutions to improve the Health Group service delivery and ensuring sustainability in models
    • Co-ordinating models of care within the Health Group/RWGPS/Diss and Remote Specialists Telehealth services
  • Work models and Workforce Development
    • Overseeing and coordinating clinical staff to sites and services
    • Managing demand and Clinician allocation
    • Collaborating with People & Culture assessing training needs and workforce planning
  • Service Monitoring
    • Overseeing clinical outcomes and clinical variations in programs
    • Demand mapping and waitlist management
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Overseeing consumer experience and engaging with regional communities in health literacy
    • Initiating and building Clinical Support networks

 

Requirements for the position:

  • Relevant qualifications or training in health
  • Experience working in Indigenous Health
  • Management and leadership of a multidisciplinary health service
  • Accreditation, Credentialing and Certification experience to meet NSQPCH Standard and ISO 9001
  • Demonstrable stakeholder engagement experience to build Clinical Support and Referral networks

 

Mandatory requirements:

  • Ability to work in Robinvale a minimum of 3 days per week
  • Willing to travel as required
  • Full Victorian Drivers Licence
  • 3 COVID vaccinations
  • Annual Influenza vaccination
  • Working with Children Check
  • Willing to undertake a National Police Clearance
